Shopsmith Strip Sander Belts are available in two width and three different abrasives. These �� and 1� wide belts will meet your expectations for many different projects. Three different abrasives give you just the right cutting material for the job at hand - Ceramic for extended life and working the toughest materials - Aluminum Oxide (A/O) for general purpose sanding and sharpening - Silicon Carbide for the final polished surface on a bevel when sharpening.

They come in many different grits from very coarse to very fine. The coarsest grits will remove stock in a HURRY! Medium grits for general purpose sanding and sharpening and the finest grits will leave the best and smoothest surface obtainable.

Aluminum Oxide and Silicon Carbide Abrasive 1/2" x 42" and 1" x 42" Strip Sanding Belts

These top-quality Strip Sander Belts are made with a durable, open coat Aluminum Oxide abrasive that is fast-cutting and resistant to loading for a longer life. The Silicon Carbide Strip Sander Belts are used for the perfect final touch to your fine tool sharpening.

The Aluminum Oxide and Silicon Carbide abrasive particles are bonded to a flexible, industrial-grade, cotton-poly cloth backing, then precision cut to either 1/2" wide or 1" wide strips. The ends are joined with a tape joint so they can be installed to run in either direction for a perfect fit on the Shopsmith Strip Sander. Their flexible back conform to both the flat platens and the curved platen. The open-coat application of the grit leaves room between the particles to reduce clogging and make the belts cut faster and cooler.

Aluminum Oxide is the perfect abrasive choice if you want to change from hardwood to softwood to sharpening and back again.
