Selecting the right tools to do the job is the key to achieving professional woodworking results. You already know that the Mark V provides the appropriate operating speed for nearly every woodworking task but now you can expand its capabilities to even higher levels!
Designed for use on the Mark V, the Speed Reducer provides a 7:1 speed reduction ratio. Instead of its usual 700 to 5,200 RPM range, your Mark V's range suddenly increases to 100 to 5,200 RPM. This provides a new range of speeds to choose from in whatever operation you are performing-turning, sawing, drilling or boring.
Some special operations require a lower operating speed to perform. Metalworking or working with plastics require reduced speeds that are usually only achievable with freestanding tools. The Mark V with a Speed Reducer gives you those capabilities making it superior to freestanding tools in more cases!
The Ultra wide range of slower speeds provided let you comfortably turn large objects. You'll have access to the speeds you need for accurately turning large wooden bowls, round bases or pedestal table columns. Drill metals without burning your bits and saw plastics without melting or breakage. The Speed Reducer will also allow your to use large Forstner bits and other accessories for wood boring projects such as the cavity for clock parts, hollowing goblets, making toy parts and more.
