Incra Now Offering New Miter Express

Post by ssuel »

I noticed that Incra is now offering a new item that works with Incra's Miter gauges called the Miter Express. See it at the web link below.

http://www.incra.biz/Products/MiterExpress.html

I purchased a Incra Miter Gauge 2000 a few years back from Shopsmith and it has been great. At the time, I bought it on an e-mail special for a good price. I have a Woodpecker router table, it is built around lots of Incra gadgets, and I get to use Incra items I purchased from WoodPeckers on my Shopsmith Miter Gauge 2000 and my TSIII Incra rip fence.

What I like about the looks of the new Incra Miter Express is the ability to use my existing Miter Gauge 2000, slip it into the new Miter Express, and use it as a crosscut sled. At the time I bought my Miter Gauge 2000 from Shopsmith, I either did not consider the MiterSled 5000 for $350 or did not want to spend the extra money. (Getting too old to remember which HA!)

I have e-mailed Incra to see if the Shopsmith Miter Gauge 2000 would work with the Incra Miter Express on the Mark V, but that was a week ago and I have not heard back from Incra yet. I see no mention of the Miter Express on the Shopsmith web page either.

So I guess my question to the forum is… would the Miter Gauge 2000 work with the New Incra Miter express or not? I know Mark V table slots are not a standard size. Any one else heard if Shopsmith is considering talking to Incra about a version of the Miter Express to sell to the Shopsmith Owners?

Thanks

Incra Now Offering New Miter Express

I ordered the Miter express naively believing the "any table Saw" advertisement. It is a real nice device but the slots on the Mark V table don't work with it. I called Incra to see if there was a work around but all they could do was refer me to Shopsmith. Looks like we are out of luck on that one.
I take it you like the Miterguage 2000.

Yet we see one mounted on a Shopsmith at

I think something is wrong here. Either it works as Shopsmith and Incra claims or Ron is right.

Shopsmith Version of Incra Miter Express

Post by fjimp »

Yes in fact it is also shown on page 97 of the 2006 Holiday catalog from shopsmith.

I rather suspect that both are correct. Incra and Shopsmith seem to have this habit of developing a SS version of their products. The shopsmith versions seem to be available only from shopsmith. Fjimp.:D
