Note to Admin: ShopTip Videos

Post by Ron309753 »

Some time ago all of the Sawdust Session Google videos went away due to some problem with Google. The Sawdust Session videos were fixed, but not the ShopTip videos.

It would be nice if they were in some other format than flash. With the ipad not supporting Flash it makes them hard to watch. I'd love to be able to take my ipad out to the garage and work on my Shopsmith.

I'm trying to locate copies of the video shop tips. They were stored on Google Video which is now defunct.

We didn't see any notification. I expect that Google sent one, but these likely were uploaded from someones non-Shopsmith email account.

I have not found back-up copies of the videos yet.

As someone who had Google videos pre- YouTube, I was sent an email that all my videos would be auto converted to YouTube videos and they were. I just don't remember the default sharing permissions of the converted videos. The Google account owner may need to do something.

Please let me know if you need a contact at youtube to help locate and claim the migrated videos.

I don't know what account was used for the google videos (likely a personal email account and probably not active anymore). They were set for link only (a youtube search) doesn't find them. I appreciate any suggestions.

Perhaps you can check with Nick or Drew? It's likely that Drew uploaded them.

In the meantime, here the Shoptip titles that had Google videos and the corresponding Youtube videos. Can you modify the webpages so that when someone clicks on the arrow to start the video it will open a new window with the Youtube video?

In the apps store, there are some inexpensive flash video converter. Just saying.

Thanks for this list of video's. I thought I had seen them all but I now know that is not the case.

While browsing, I found this one that I had never seen and needed to.

Then while continuing the browse with a fresh cup of hot coffee, I found these.
