I saw the same demo at the woodworking show in Costa Mesa on Friday. I came real close to buying it. I couldn't see what made it so accurate, other than a really good salesman.

Nice try for your first attempt. Red cedar? Interesting, because from the photos I thought it was pine and I thought it would be too soft to work with.

Finally, finally, finally,,,,,, I received my sharpening jig, that I ordered back in July. Got it on friday, assembled it last night. This afternoon, I try my hand at sharpening chisels with it. I would have done it yesterday, but I need to finish my current project first.

Dealers paid the same price for the machine that the public does, effectively putting the dealers out of business. So he has ...

I bought my SS at a Lowe's in Orange County. I had seen the SS demos at the county fair several times. I didn't think that partnership would last too long.

I bought an excellent blade from Anderson Saw Company in Hawthorne, CA. Family owned and operated. They bored out the hole to fit a shopsmith. I was cutting 3/4 inch plywood and none of my SS blades were doing the job very well. They manufacture commerical saw blades. Very good and heavy duty.

Well, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one with issues on items ordered. Yesterday I received the sanding disk, sand paper, and a dvd that doesn't work. The sharpening jig wasn't in the package. I assume that since I called a few days ago, someone decided to go ahead and send me a portion of ...

I finally got through to Linda last week about the sharpening guide kit that I ordered almost 2 months ago. Very nice lady and in a tough position. I sympathize with her, but that doesn't help my frustation. One of the manufacturers that SS contracts with went out of business apparently. I have no p...

I ordered my sharpening jig about 6 weeks ago and still haven't received it. And everytime I call Shopsmith, I'm on "death penality" hold. I've get frustrated after 10 minutes and hang up. I don't know who Jan is, but I hope it was somebody at SS! I really hope I get it soon. Very hard to ...
