Thanks JPG!!! The pic that says Adjuster.jpg is what I am questioning. The only movement I have is the slot that the round adjustment knob/ wheel can move in the little slot. Is the threaded stem suppose to travel through the knob?

It would seem that your thumb wheel is 'stuck' on the threaded rod. The wheel has holes that allow insertion of the SS toolkit to aid in turning it. Try moving the wheel further with the 5/32" 'tool kit'.

JPG did a great job posting Reassembling a Belt Sander 6 X 48
I thought I would try to make a pdf file of his posts on it.

I hope you all like it. I had to make two files for it ( over the 2MB upload).

Awesome! My thanks to both you and JPG.

I have an eBay belt sander, still in the shipping box, that I need to go through before putting it into service. This should make that chore a lot easier!

This I'm sure will come in handy when I finally get to taking mine apart and well the reassembling for sure. I haven't used it the last couple of years because it needs a tune up and I keep finding other things todo, so I'm hoping this year will be the year for it.

Thanks,

Ed

Many folks have trouble with setting the belt tension as it is NOT intuitively obvious(indeed counter intuitive) so for those who might complete reassembly and cannot get the tension set I add the following link.
https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/view ... 24#p191924

I would also add hold the idler drum to prevent it's rotating.
