I have been altering a few corners, chamfers, accentuating some overhangs, and de-emphasizing some other parts which looked a bit ungainly. The top and bottom sections are still detachable, which has come in handy!

Now I have started finishing the project, legs first. We already have other (purchased) pieces in the house with black legs, so this sort of goes along with that:

I'm now prototyping a knob/latch system. Knobs were turned as a symmetrical pair on the SS lathe. For now the "dogbone piece" is a hardboard trial. When I get to a shape I like, I plan to make the real piece out of shop-made plywood (thin) a la the old Jim McCann method shown on Nick's videos years ago:

Moving forward from hardboard prototype to shop-glued plywood for the "dogbone latch," I thought on it a couple of days and decided to emulate shapes already in play on the copper hinges.
The 'plywood' was cut out and then finessed on the SS Strip Sander a bit. It's about 1/8" thick and has good rigidity; the glued-up veneers smelled sort of like lignum vitae when worked on the sander. Some leftover plywood is shown atop the cabinet

I'm now in the finishing stages of the exterior so most of the mental stress is done. Inner decking, will be sometime as I get to it. Thanks for watching!

I was really hesitant to take the thing upstairs because I was more and more noticing just how chunky it looked out in the open.
It was initially going to have a function in the Great / TV room, but it just looked too out of place. On the other hand, it is really looking better in the cool corner of the Dining Room. So.... it's a Wine Cabinet now!
