Any one use them any more ? if so what size do you use the most ?

I have two. Both are twelve inch. One is a Pickett Log Log Duplex and the other is a Post. I am fond of the Pickett. It was with me all the way through school. It was temporarily retired when I got my first scientific calculator ( a Texas Instruments gadget that mother gave me for graduation ). I never became really fond of it and it has been permanently retired to a trunk full of memorabilia.

Both are within reach on my desk and both get used on occasion. Mostly to ensure myself that I can still use them. I would use them more except that with my eyesight they are becoming more difficult to read accurately. If you can't see to interpolate a slide rule is almost useless.

Do you mean a folding wood ruler, or slide rule, or ? I use my folding wood ruler (see pic below) in my shop daily. Love it.

A slip stick is a set of usually 2 wood sticks , usually 1 in or so wide and around a 1/4 inch thick that lay side by side like a slide rule , they extend sort of like a survey stick , popular before the tape measure , they were graduated like a ruler , shorter ones were used for measuring / laying out window sashes/jams .longer ones extended 10 ft or so

Yeah, I haven't used these, but I have seen them used in videos. Aren't they also called pinch rods (see link)?

Yea except I dopnt think the pinch rods are graduated .

I have never used these, but they look useful. I think I saw The Wood Whisperer in one of his videos using one a while back. His were longer (maybe 2' long per stick) and they were slender from what I remember. I like the 1/4" x 3/4" x L size in the link I posted. I just need to order the hardware from Lee Valley and make some. Thanks for reminding me about these!

They are also called story sticks , I have been looking for a set that is graduated

My old eyes have issues reading a ruler,, lol ,,let alone making one ,,,but those are it .
