Just wondering

Post by wa2crk »

I was wondering if anyone is using CBN wheels for their grinding. I found a site, www.woodturnerswonders.com that had some really good prices.

One of the guys over at sawdustzone.org uses them over and wrote a decent article about them that can be found here.

Yes, I got mine from D Way tools a few years ago. Love them (d-waytools.com). The ones at woodenwonders look good and have received good reviews. I think mine are 80 and 180 grits. Try one or two and you won't be sorry. I use them on an 8" slow (1700 ish rpm) grinder. They are heavy and may on a lightweight grinder appreciate a helping push to get them going!

I just got a 1HP Rikon slow speed grinder a few months ago from my local Woodcraft when they were on sale. I waited over 6 months to get it. Hey Dusty, it is not only Shopsmith that has delivery problems. :) Thanks for the link. I have wanted to get some CBN wheels and that is an excellent site with good prices.
