Re: New Project
Depends on how you are going to use it. I'm sure my needs are different than yours. I haven't explored all options, that will come with time and others building and using it too. I just wanted to share it with others on this forum that have helped me when asked.
Re: New Project
Slightly modified bracket but works great for refurbishing hand plane iron
Re: New Project
I am really liking this jig!

Re: New Project
Any chance you could publish a Sketchup file with dimensions?
Re: New Project
If you are talking about the grinder mount, the Tormek BGM-100 comes with instructions.
For a simple, straight belt sander mount, purchase the following:
one 1/4" thick 2 inch wide x 13 inch long piece of mild steel flat bar
two 1/2-13 x 8 inch long bolts(cut the hex heads off)
two 1/2-13 nuts
two low profile 1/2-13 cap or acorn nuts
four 10-32 x 1/2 inch long pan head machine screws
one Tormek BGM-100 (comes with bar, around $67)
Use the Tormek base to mark the holes for drilling, then thread with a 10-32 tap
I wrote in a previous post how I marked and drilled the 1/2 inch holes
