Making great progress Ron.
That router is a real beauty. Thanks for explaining that you purchased the blade.
I may go this way for a router plane.

Today I chopped the housing dado’s in the aprons.

Red, note the shavings have gone to the compost pile.
And a closeup.

The end is in sight, a couple more dado's on the well board and some shaping on the well board ends and then I can start assembly.
edit- a review of the plans shows the aprons legs and top are assembled and then the well board is fitted. Amazing what a nights sleep can do for clarity of thought.

A good morning in the shop. I got the wedges cut and fitted in the aprons.

And the aprons bolted to the legs. At this point it is already very solid and rigid.

And here it is withe the top and well board laid on top, they still need fitting and gluing but it gives an idea of how it will look when finished.

Lots happening last weekend but I have made some progress.
The top and well board are glued to the aprons and screwed to the bearers. The ends were re cut so everything lines up properly The aprons are planed level with the top and the top and aprons are are sanded.

Next will be finishing with tung oil and fitting vises.

Slow progress since last post. The top and aprons are sanded and finished with two coats of Tung oil and a coat of wax.

I had an old vise that I inherited from my father in law. (before)

Not a great vise but it will do till I can afford something better.
Here it is cleaned up and mounted on the bench (from below) with new wooden jaws made and fitted.
I added the piece of wood between the back of the screw and the bottom of the bench top to minimize deflection (racking) of the jaw when tightened.

And here it is from the top. The knobs for the vise handle were cut out using a holesaw

The bench is now usable but I still want to add a leg vise to the front.
