Greetings, All.
For anyone who owns a SAWSMITH 2000, you know spare/replacement parts are hard to get. I have a standard MODEL (555530) I've owned for over 20 years (and I got it from my father-in-law when he closed up his cabinet shop.)

Anyway, I happen to do 3D CAD design as a business, so recreating some of the hard to find parts and then printing them in ABS plastic on my 3D printer has been very useful.

I thought I'd share some of the parts I have currently replaced so that if any of you SAWSMITH owners need a resource, I might be of help.

So far, the 3 parts I've re-engineered and replaced are the:
Carriage pull rod Collet Plate PN 516459
Carriage pull rod Locking Collet PN 516457
and
a sub-component of the Carriage Pull rod, the little vibration dampening connector with two 1/4"-20 threaded ends that are molded into rubber. On this part, I have removed the two threaded pieces and created a 3D ABS plastic retrofit kit that allows the connector to join the carriage pull rod to the carriage, while providing flexibility like the rubber piece does.

I have had the parts on my SAWSMITH for a few weeks now and so far all is working fine. If you are interested, send me a note.

I've attached some pictures of the 3 parts.

If you have another part that you can't get replaced, I may be able to help out.

I have a business website (for my 3D design business) https://www.chadwallsvcs.com and you can use the contact page there should I not see any messages here.

Best Regards,

Chad M. Wall

This is phenomenal. I'm PM'ing you for details. Have you done anything regarding the locking hubs #516458?

I picked up an Ultra a week ago and am very excited. Not knowing what to look for as I had never seen one, I got home to find that the threaded part of the carriage lock is broken and was missing one of the locking hubs. I have been racking my brain on ways to rig it, but this solves the issue!
