the bolts are counter sank and epoxied in the 1x I marked the ends left , right and up ,they adjust to any angle and make a perfect template , each step was a little different do to the #2 pine side board , it worked like a glove .

That is a great idea. I hope I remember it when I redo my basement steps next year.
