And I thought mesquite was only for the grill. Those are beautiful.

Beautiful wood! I’ve never seen that type of bandsaw box, only the ones with drawers.

Do you have any in-process photos that show how it’s done? I assume that you shell them out and re-glue the bottoms, in which case there must be a seam somewhere on the sides. And maybe rabbet the lids with a router?

Beautiful work. You must've started with a good sized log. The grain continuity is nicely preserved. Very well done.

The dimensions are approximately 8" X 7" X 5 1/2.
The boxes were not cut to a dimension or pattern the shape and dimension were determined by the wood grain & inclusions .

I cured the rounds with the bark on and painted the ends with a very heavy coat of latex to prevent splitting. They were left to dry for about 3 years. One tip. I think due to the narley grain pattern the wood will move about 1/4 of an inch after being cut and in different directions. So try to glue the bottom and side cut the same day the band saw box is cut.
