Return to the Dining Room
The next project is to be a built in side board in the dining room. It will have four cabinet doors with interior pull out shelving, eight drawers and under lit onyx counter top. The doors will be alder with mahogany appliqué and the drawer fronts will be zebrawood cut on the bias with mahogany edge detail. I picked up the plywood today and started the edge banding process.

Re: Return to the Dining Room
Today was routing the plywood getting closer to the assembly phase. All that is left is the final cut to width and I can start assembling the boxes.

Re: Return to the Dining Room
Back in the shop today and finished the boxes. Tomorrow I will trim them out and finish the installation. Then it’s on to drawers.

Re: Return to the Dining Room
Yesterday and today were days of milling and gluing. The door panels and drawer stock is laminated and ready for milling. These drawers will be my first use of the Incra LS for doing the dovetails. I did a test piece and it worked very fast and the end result was very nice. The drawer stock is what is now termed “soft maple”. The door panels are alder.

Re: Return to the Dining Room
Today was playing with the Incra LS positioner for the drawers. I have to say I am very impressed. Once you get the sequence down it goes pretty fast and the results are great. I am doing half blind dovetails. Pics are of the test pieces.

Re: Return to the Dining Room
Finished up milling the drawer stock and doing the dovetailing. Managed to get one drawer assembled. Now that I have used the Incra Wonderfence system for dovetailing I am impressed. As usual Incra lived up to its reputation. It was quick and simple and the fit is exact. Definitely beats the old template system.
