My new (ugly) "GIRLFRIEND"

Picked up this rusty boat anchor today. It is missing a lot of the basics-chuck, mitre, arbors.., but it runs and has wheels. The one odd thing about it is the table riser arm (photo 2) Even if I use it for spare parts, it was only $40.00

I think the best option is to completly rebuild the chest. If a future generation was to have a chest of mine that was splitting, I would be honored that someone took it apart and rebuilt it properly, even if they had to cut and plane the wood!

$200-Mark5

What do you guys think about the speed coment on this posting? Thanks for the input:) This Mark 5 Shopsmith was made in Cincinnati, Ohio, by the Yuba Power Products Co. It is of the vintage that had the 3/4 hp, single bearing quill. It is balky at changing speed to the extremes of the range, but wil...

Having been the owner of a handful of ERs and Es, I am surprised that Shopsmith even offered a manual for these "Magna" machines. Due to safety issues I was under the impression that nothing is offered for these machines. My hat is off to Shopsmith for even offering them, let alone offerin...

I have only had two kick-backs: #1- Cutting a 12"x12" square against the fence. As I finished the cut, it turned a hair and got caught on the backside of the blade. It spun like a helicopter blade into my chest. #2- Cutting a small piece of cedar against the fence. My blade insert was set ...
