OUCH Spring cost for Maytag dishwasher
This is far from a new dishwasher and as such it is not unexpected that things will go wrong. Well this time a spring that helps counterbalance the door broke. The good thing is that my wife didn't get whacked by it when it fell. Had to take off a couple of panels to get to it but not a big deal. No...

These come with a 1-Year Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty. Dewalt?
Got them early December so only about 6 weeks with them at this point. So far so good.

Re: Festool RO 90 FEQ
A little update on the Festool edge sander attachment. First, last May I picked up the sander that it fits. I was able to make good use of it on a couple of projects. Then before the 2023 price increase I added the edge sander attachment and a few other Festool item on my list. I have attached it to...

Re: Slop in the Rails Adversly Effects Alignment
My own experience is that I did not have the ability to use the fence well when straddled between main and either a floating table or a lesser extent a fixed table. A bit of back ground. I had used a new from shopsmith 500 for many years. The lure of the 520 was the bigger table and the extension tu...

Re: Adding vacuum hose to upper saw blade cover
Here is the link to the shark guard testing that I did: https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=21777 I have gone to using the guided saw system and not done much more on dust collection of the shopsmith. There sure is a difference between a system designed for dust collection and one that isn't...

Re: Adding vacuum hose to upper saw blade cover
I used a hole saw and modified a 520 upper guard to take a shop vac hose. It helps a little. I also found a plug to put in the hole so the guard can still be used with the hole in it. A far amount of dust escapes through the hole otherwise. Without going out to the shop I don't recall the hole size ...

Re: Table flatness
I had a little time this afternoon so I went out to the shopsmith drill press and took a look at the table for flatness. First off the largest "dip" I could find was not centered of the table or where the drill press center is. So it is unlikely that any distortion has been caused by drill...

Stubby hex shank drill bit set
This one will not brake the bank. $15 or so depending on the brand and where you find them. This one is NEIKO and a 6 piece set with brad points 3/32, 1/8,3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8. As you can guess they are for wood. I think they also sell a version for metal?? I do have a normal length 13 piece set tha...

ISOtunes LITE
A recent acquisition. And, yes I like them. I can not verify the 26 NRR rating but I trust them that on that. I can say they are very light weight and stay in my ears just fine. Of late I have been using them at the gym and am getting at least 7-1/2 hours of use out of them. I charge them at that po...
