I have the Miter Sled by Incra which, like the Dubby, does not have the T-slot washer (coin). Thanks for sharing your safety concerns. I will keep your experiences in mind.

Dubby for Shopsmith

I've read a number of posts relative to sliding cut off sleds. Has anyone used the single dubby (or double dubby) cut off fixture from In-Line Industries? I understand they have a model for the Shopsmith.

My extension fence is 30+ inches (33 or 34). I feel more safe and accurate when I use it for sheet goods due to my short stature. I use it to rip anything over 6 feet in length, sheet goods or planks. Also, it helps with wide sheet good pieces as well. With 5 inches or so of additional support on th...

I received a new power switch from SS today. I compared its construction to two of my failed switches. There is a difference. The two failed switches have a gap in the molded plastic -- to the point where I can hold them up to a light and see through them. The new switch is sealed and has no gap. I ...

Forrest Manufacturing sharpens and repairs blades from any manufacturer. Their rates appear to be reasonable.

I agree that our shops can get "dusty". I do housekeeping every day. In fact, my wife feels I should do more housekeeping in other areas of our home. I am perplexed to say the least. SS said they did revise the switch, and I may have used the "old" ones. Yet, my father in law has...

I thought about the power source too. I had it installed about two years ago to be dedicated to the SS. I do use it with other tools (planer, for example) but not at the same time as the SS. When I talked with customer service over the weekend, they indicated that there were some issues with the swi...

I use the Wixey to set my table angle when doing beveling. I am curious about the process you use to set the miter gauge. Thanks.

Dusty,

I am short, so I worry more about reaching across the table than anything else. I constantly review body placement, etc. to prevent any mishaps. I am retired, and my wife works. So, I am in the shop most of the time by myself.
