Doug, The caster set is from a SS 10ER from the 1950s. I like to use them as they work well on straight legs. You can use the Mark V casters, but then you have to weld up an angled bracket to attach them to straight legs. The steel wheels on the set were replaced with urethane wheels to handle the w...

Router Table

Over the years I have built several router tables and have yet to build the perfect one. The under table will do some things quite well and the over arm OPR can do many things well. I have both so I usually get the job done. I have never posted pictures so I will try it now with the last router tabl...

Leonard,
Thanks a bunch for the advice. I found that I just needed to DEFRAG the drive and reload Flash Player. I should have realized the disk needed to be DEFRAGED as I was seeing some other flaky glitches in other programs.

SS Video

I can not get any of the SS free videos to play on my PC. What am I missing or are others having the same problem?

Edski, As I see it your first mistake was selling the first SS. If folks would just realize that each time we think of selling a SS we should buy another SS instead. I still have my 10ER as well as several other Mark Vs. Now when my shop is too crowded I can just push them out the door, one does not...

Wixey v Beal

A few weeks back I built a cut-off table for a Mark V using the Wixey to set all of the fence angles for drilling. The table was actually better than my SS cut-off table. I have both the Wixey and Beal just in case I drop one I will have another, that is how much I have come to rely on them.

Fence alignment

For what it's worth I use a simple stop rod in the mitre gauge and a feeler gauge. If the toe is in I set from the front and if it is out from the back. My SS cuts small stock better than my Delta. I must defend the Wixey as a needed tool for the SS and just about any tool that you need to set an an...

Wixey

I don't think the Wixey Digital Fence Gauge would be of much value with any of the SS fences that have been used over the years, but I must say the Wixey Angle Gauge has improved my ability to set and repeat a table angle and mitre angle on my Mark V 500 to the point that my woodworking life will ne...

Ed, This is my first post of any kind on a computer so here is my two cents worth. I have the SS cross-cut sled and it works great, but I wanted a bit more so I constructed my own using the SS miter bar (555895), zero clearance blade insert and a Wixey Digital Angle Gauge. The Wixey helps set the an...
