Nick I have a question. When do step C you say adjust the table until both measurements are the same. I was using a dail indicator and I messed and I played and I messed and I played and to the best I could get the two was two points on the scale difference front to back. Thanks everyone for your input. It looks like I will be re-checking my alignment and leveling my tubes. When I originally aligned the tables I just couldn't get it as close as I wanted it, but I never checked the tubes for level, so if I do that then maybe I can get the tables aligned. I've got my ...

Thx for the feedback, Ed! I never tried sharpening a lawn mower blade on the disk. I'll have to try that when the snow melts next year. Mower blades is not all I sharpen on my Shopsmith. Let me tell you it works great!! Only thing is make sure you cover the way tubes, the metal dust that results wi...

I have and it works fine. I did purchase another disk since I sharpen my mower blades on my shopsmith. Shopsmith warned me sharpening steel will melt the hook and loop material.

Nick Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't done what you suggestted yet as I have a question. If I remember correctly when I mounted my table I was told to use shims between the trunions and the table to warp it level. I will look at my 510 upgrade instructions but if I recall correctly we used the s...

I've been looking for an HVLP sprayer for paint and other finishes. HVLP looks like the way to go, but the high end units are SOOOO expensive. Has anyone had experience with some of the low end units, like the Wagner FineSpray 2400 or CH HV1120? I am not a professional woodworker and it would only ...

Main table ribbing

I have noticed on the newer Shopsmiths the main table is not ribbed between the two mitre slots. Does anyone know why Shopsmith stop ribbing the table completely? When I bough mine SS would use the table ribbing as a selling point. Less surface contact so the wood moved easier and smoother. I ask be...

Looks good!
The only thing I wonder about is it off balance front to back.
With Earl's design you have equal weight front and back.
I know how being off balance up sets the main table as far as raising it up and down.

I have the SS stacked dado set and have been very dissatisfied with the quality of cuts it makes. The bottoms are very rough and uneven. Do others have similar problems or do I have a "lemon"? Are there other brands you are more satisfied with? Greg First I think most stacked dado's are f...
