Re: DC3300 Bag replacement

I have been using the Costco Kirkland Clear Multipurpose bags 121 L capacity 31 x 43.5" (box of 60 clear bags). This bag is regularly used at home for many uses and it has served well in the DC3300 for a decade here with many replacements. No tearing, fits well and you can see exactly how much ...

Re: Stop Collar scale too short?

Mike & John Thanks for the conversation and the perspective of long term SS ownership. I appreciate your good and detailed responses. Even though my first SS was purchased in 1975, I still expected better consistency, support & quality from SS standard products. I will apply the scales as su...

Re: Stop Collar scale too short?

There may be some confusion about the 2 scale pieces SS sells together for this application. The single scale applies to the portion of the ring with the set screw and is sufficiently short to leave the appropriate gap to adjust the set screw. The triple scale is manufactured to attach to the wider ...

Re: Stop Collar scale too short?

I found the Shopsmith paper download of a vernier tape for the stop collar. In the text the scale is described as 7.07 inches long being required in order to fit in a complete circle where the scale ends meet. My yellow scale 556419 DC-G03 is exactly 7 inches for the 3 scale portion, and that is no ...

Stop Collar scale too short?

For several years after purchase I had avoided placing the scale on the stop collar, probably because of not being prepared to place it incorrectly. Well it is time to to do it carefully and enjoy the results. The scale seems to be too short to close the distance (2.5mm gap rather than 0.8mm gap in ...

Re: Kreg Bandsaw upgrade

ryanbp01 Your post reminded me of my upgrade of SS band saw with no fence to the SS Kreg fence. I anticipated smooth adjustment of the fence angular position to compensate for blade drift when re sawing. Upon installation of the Kreg fence, I discovered that adjustment of two bolts was necessary to ...

Re: Homemade Shopsmith Miter Bars
The best orientation of the grain is my question. Grain running the width of the track or grain running the depth of the track. Maybe it doesn't matter one way or the other. I'm just trying to minimize the likelihood of the milled miter bars from warping.
In reply to your question of...

Re: Power pro 220

Initially I ran the PP from 120V because it came equipped that way. Since a 240V receptacle was also conveniently available, and I was unhappy with a 240V to 120V cheater cord and its safety implications, I changed the SS 120V cord cap to a 240V configuration to meet electrical code requirements. Ov...
