Re: Is there more interest in Kreg pocket hole stuff?
Ed, Fun lessons. I thought I might let those following this know that Kreg has a rebate of $15 going through the end of January on their K4 and K5 stand alone jigs and master systems. The rebate can be mail in or online. Additionally if you are e a member of Amazon prime, the K5 stand alone jig is c...

Re: Is there more interest in Kreg pocket hole stuff?
Ron, Had a similar situation but had 40 plus posts to secure to a lower brace, so at least 120 holes. I did consider the wooden plugs but they were way too pricey for the total cost of the fence and no place locally carried enough to do the whole job. Ended up taking a caulking gun and shooting enou...

Re: Shopsmith T-bolts
Dennis, I made a bunch of sliders using steel flat bar [with thinner nuts welded on to make up the depth of SS machined aluminum] (wanted the ability to use magnets on the tnuts; plus they were much cheaper to make than buy and modify SS’s) . A local friend saw them asked me to make ones with just a...

Re: We Shall Never Forget
There is an interesting document that I am relatively certain each of US have heard of and in that Preamble to the Constitution it starts with “We the people....”. In the wisdom of that entire document it tasks US the we in “We the people..” to make a union. I believe that within it is the implicit ...

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
This a just a screen shot from a Facebook Marketplace post
It shows a speed control and if you have a FB account, the other pictures show an assortment of tools and a jigsaw. The ad says they are located here in the Helena, MT area.
Be well,
Ben

Re: floating table inserts for V 500
Sorry to come to this late, but I thought I remembered something by Bill Mayo that involved adding a small attachment bar to the ends of the table (along the bottom edge I think), which allows another set of rectangular bars to extend out. Though I think the sole purpose was to have a place for the ...

Re: Question regarding Collinite 476s
Thanks JPG!!! I just ordered some from Lowe's for pickup tomorrow. I've used the stuff to thin paint but had no clue it would work to for this. Until you posted this, I had resigned myself to sanding down the tables to reduce pore size.
Thanks again!!
Be well,
Ben

Re: Question regarding Collinite 476s
Thanks for the info Ron. I do have some Boeshield and can try it. I’m just so puzzled that nothing else seems to rust as significantly as the bandsaw tables. Your thought about the pores seems to be a consistent and maybe the solution is to reduce their impact or try and eliminate as much of the por...

Re: Question regarding Collinite 476s
Hi Gary. Lots of hot air here in Helena (politician’s and lobbyists) 😱🤪😄 , but no lakes near by. I can’t say that I’m diligent keeping tables waxed, though between TopCote on the saw top and JPW on the aux tables, they stay relatively rust speckles free. Even the belt sander table stays rust free. I...

Question regarding Collinite 476s
Two of my bandsaws have the iron tables. Not certain if all bandsaw tables rust as quickly as mine, but JPW doesn’t really seem to last very long. I’ve thoroughly cleaned each, but it seems as if I turn around and rust comes back. One of the saws, I’ve started using a large thin sheet of HDPE and ha...
