I know I'm a few days late on the moving posts, but we just got done moving as well. I hired movers this time; they weren't cheap, cost almost $800 but I figured it was worth it to save my back. I don't enjoy moving furniture and shop equipment any more...

For tv, charisma and good looks are often selected for over expertise.
For YT, people who are good at manipulating the suggestion algo are rewarded over expertise.
Sometimes you get someone who has it all, but it seems like expertise is a secondary or tertiary concern for most media.

I share your fear of knocking holes in the wall...I don't want an expensive mistake/eyesore reminding me of my chutzpah every day!
