Re: pocket screws
Ordered a Kreg Pocket Hole Jig many yeras ago after reading a magazine article about this "new product". Hardware store didn't even know what they were! That might have been close to 20 years ago...... Might not be that many but really can't remember for sure. Have used it for dozens of pr...

Re: Inspirational workshop layout
Moved into the new workshop earlier this year and setup my mechanics toolbox to the right of my bench. And labelled all the drawers!
Wonder why that wasn't done many years ago.
It is a real pleasure to work this way. And was easy to do.

Re: Decision time on Shopsmith
Excellent thinking. I do have a small mini lathe that I've used for about 20 years. Did some modelling for Volvo on that one. That got me started turning actually. It has been the bowl and composite ornament turning that has really got me going the last couple of years though. That and pieces larger...

Saw some nice modifications to Shopsmith tools going way back into the 50's so it certainly looks possible. And we have 3 grown boys that are quite capab...

Re: Lathe Dust Collection
Oops. Got carried away on another thread! (ice cream scoop handle-which looks awesome by the way).
That is an excellent looking dust collection system.
Does it pull in the shavings as well as the dust?

Re: The scoop
Would concur 100% on the scoop handle and the dust collector arrangement. Veritas makes a magnetic inlet that kind of came with the the old Delta dust collector we picked up at a yard sale last year. It just snaps right onto the lathe and it sure grabs a lot of shavings. Even better, it virtually el...

Decision time on Shopsmith
Good morning all: Newly registered to the forum but have been reading for awhile. Been wood working all my life and have a shop full of tools. Just finishing a new house w a brand new shop - that is smaller than what I have now! I know, I know, not too bright! However, this one is much more accessib...
