Does anyone know of a better built tool rest arm for the lathe. When I get a strong catch turning a bowl the arm cracks where the tool rest goes into the arm. If not a stronger arm is there any way to make the arm stronger.

Are there any buffing attachments that can be used with a Mark V. I would like to put a nice finish on the bowls I turn.

I just got a Nova G3 Chuck and wanted to know if the grubscrew should be used when setting it up.

What type of jig should I make when making a 5 degree bevel cut on a 3 inch high by 1 1/2 inch thick board. I am trying to put a bevel on both side of the piece.

What causes the board I am resawing to start out the correct width and then become wider as I push it through. The fence is set correctly and I am using a feather board.

I have a 1983 bandsaw and the old rubber tire on the lower wheel is not glued on.
When I replace it with a new rubber tire does it need to be glued on.
If it does what type of glue should I use.

I have just purchased a older Mark V and am new to Shopsmith. When I adjust the tension on the bandsaw the tension on the wheel changes but no change is shown on the indicator scale. What might be the issue?
