Wood Handbook

Someone gave me a copy of Wood Handbook published in 1955 by the government so I check for a more recent one. It has everything I think you would ever want to know about wood and pictures. https://www.fpl.fs.fed.us/products/publications/several_pubs.php?grouping_id=100&header_id=p [ need to past...

Re: Live center question

Re: New to Turning - how to sharpen chisels?

I have a 10er so the jack shaft was easy, didn't realize that you had a mark v. The $500 for a DVR to direct drive the SPT That price sparked an interest in thinking about it for a 10er. But at my age it is not worth it. It would be interesting to see if striatech would sell directly. Watching the d...

Re: New to Turning - how to sharpen chisels?

I have a jack shaft on my er. I put a adjustable pulley on the motor and on the jack shaft so I could get variable speed settings.I used a plywood v with a hinge at the v.
