AO Smith Motor Shaft End Nut
I bought 1954 Greenie for $35. It basically amounted to a couple of boxes of parts. I am in the process of pulling it together to use as a sanding station. Pressed on some new bearings for the headstock and rebuilt the motor. This is the original motor (A.O. Smith) with the nut holding on the spring...

Re: Idler Shaft
Good point on the cost. By the time I get replacement bearings I would probably only be saving $20-$30. But I may try it.

Idler Shaft
Can the bearing be replaced on the new style of idler shaft or do you still have to buy the whole assembly when they go bad? I can pull off and press on bearings on quill, drive and motor shafts.

Capacitor Replacement
I am rebuilding a 3/4 hp AO Smith from a 1954 Greenie. I need a replacement start up capacitor. Not sure what type to get as the markings on the old one are rubbed off. My multimeter testing indicates it is bad. Any help is appreciated. It needs a capacitor housing and some other parts in addition t...

Re: Snapped Band Saw Tire
I ordered the new tire and the blade guard. I am pretty sure using contact cement would be a mess. Any suggestions on what type of adhesive to use. Duckman

Re: Snapped Band Saw Tire
I might be able to bend the guard into a usable form but the blade put a few cuts in it. I will look on ebay. The guards show up once in awhile. Thanks for the responses. Understand the thickness issue. I tried to make sure the tire's "tension" was uniform 360 around the wheel. It is trick...

Snapped Band Saw Tire
Here is the issue: My band saw tire broke the other day, coming off the top wheel (idler) and destroying the aluminum blade guard (properly positioned for the cut!, safety 1st, mostly) as it sort of slapped around. This happened before I started my cut. Praise God I was unscathed. Before I buy a new...

Re: Table insert issue
The table itself looks fine. Also it does not bow like the pics posted by Dusty. Pretty sure it is the insert plate. Hate to drop $30 on a new one. Hopefully SS has some in stock. Duckman
