Looking For Jointer Knives
G'day all I have been looking at getting a spare set of Jointer knives, being in Australia I'm struggling to justify the cost of a set of knives from Shopsmith plus the conversion rate plus the inconvenience of freighting to a family friend in the US and then getting them to freight to me. All up I'...

Re: Homemade Dust Extractor
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Its nice to have your work appreciated by such a talented group of people. I sent a picture to my uncle who is also a keen wood worker, he described it as a piece of "practical art" When I started out building the cyclone (12 months ago :( )it was only ...

The cyclone is sanded smooth inside and clear coated several times. Will see how it holds up inside. Filters were a bit of a challenge ...

Jointer belt
G'day everyone
I have been trying to find what belt size is required for the 4e jointer on my 10er. I have seen it on here before but not having much luck with my searches.
If someone has a link or could let me know the size belt they use it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Marty

Re: Mark V Speed Control
Put the head stock back together today and ran the motor for a while. It is much quieted with new bearings. It is still a little bit tight to turn at one point close to fast, but much better then it was. Ran through all speeds several times. So far so good with the braised control sheave :D :D [quot...

Re: Mark V Speed Control
Thanks again for the guidance. You are correct JPG, the blue coloring was caused by the brazing. I figured why not have a go at brazing it up, being so far from a good supply of parts it was worth a go. Happy to beta test LOL I do plan to replace the control sheave in the future.....My parents are t...
