Re: bandsaw tires

I had "upgraded" to the urethane tires, from Shopsmith, and had nothing but problems as they kept slipping off.

"Downgraded" to the stock rubber tires and have not had a problem since.

The Power Pro Upgrade, if I DIY it, how much cheaper is it? , Just my 2 cents - but the DIY upgrade is priceless!! There is no greater teacher than experience, and completely gutting a MV headstock to install the PowerPro gives you that experience. Yes, is it a little bit cheaper - but I can't put ...

Most likely you have a bent table mounting post (the 4 screws that raise and lower the table). To replace them, you essentially have to tear the planer apart. Despite my best efforts, I cannot get anywhere near horizontal alignment by "squaring the headrest." Al My guess is that both ends must be perfectly perpendicular to the tubes. Everything is aligned to the right side, but if that end is not perpendicular to the tubes, then you can never g...

[quote="ppengineeratss"]Greetings all] When I initially called, mid 90's did not work, so I was told to set it to 100. At that time it appeared to work (and no overspeed), so we left it at that. some time later, I still experienced the banging, so I called again, but never received a call ...

Adjusting the PowerPro Settings

There has been much discussion about a loud banging noise while using the bandsaw. I have also experienced this noise while using the disc sander, and when starting up the table saw. In theory, I think what happens is that the PowerPro is continuously monitoring and adjusting the speed to keep it co...

Adjusting the PowerPro Settings

Here it is: (I'll also start a new thread - it may make searching easier) ADJUSTING THE POWERPRO SETTINGS *** DISCLAIMER *** This procedure was given to me by ShopSmith Tech Support to solve the banging noise issue while using the bandsaw.
