After cleaning the SS and waxing the table now slides the best it ever has on the way tubes, but now it slides when drilling in both horizontal and vertical positions.
Do I need to tighten up the mechanism that clamps the table carriage?
How tight should I make it?

The other area shopsmith could take advantage of are upgrades like the pulley kit for the planer that gives improve speeds and better cuts. I would like to see a Helical cutter head/blades for the planer and joiner. The upgrade for the bandsaw tires is great. It improve the performance. The ceramic ...

You can use a bandsaw to cut the tubes as well. I took my tubes by a local machine shop. The owner cut them for me and dressed the ends for free. He was interested in my project. He had a metal cutting blade in the bandsaw. A fine tooth blade with not much set. He used some oil to cool the blades. I...

I just had the key fall out of my Pro Planner today as I was planning. I've been using it for a while. No problems, no vibrations, runs smooth and then the boards stopped moving and the motors bogged down. I quickly turned it off to prevent any more problems. Smelled burning rubber as well. Upper pu...

I love the SS 230 volt motor on one of mine. Purchased it with it new. It took SS longer to fill the order. I think they had to find one to build it. It has a lot of torque and never has a problem with breakers. My 120 V SS really requires 20 Amp fuse and at least 12 Gauge wire, 10 will work. Can do...

Hi Mark, I was hoping to find out if you have any updates on your Pro planer upgrade. I've ordering the parts to build the new speed control. The Minarik DC motor control has arrived and the other parts should arrive soon. The breaker has not been ordered, I was hoping to hear back from you to see i...

Brut force method, since I don't have a schematic capture tool. I drew it in Key Note. Apple's iwork version of the ever popular Power point. My son looked over my shoulder when I had just about finished it and asked... Why didn't you ask me. He has a schematic capture tool he uses for school. I've ...
