Re: Sanding belts Keep Separating at Tape Joint
I too have had no luck in reconnecting separated belts. Perhaps Shopsmith can tell us what adhesive they use or recommend to repair or reinforce the tape seam? Does anyone know how to get that message to them. I assume they buy the belts from a supplier and brand them with SS logo.

Live centers and mandrel savers
Hey Guys, Thanks for the great advice. Will a standard 7mm mandrel saver work on a SS? I will look into the 60 degree live center. What adapter will I need on the quill shaft if we go both ends and eliminate the mandrel?

live center point
Does anyone know where I can purchase new center points for the Shopsmith lathe live center? They are easily removed by unscrewing the assembly from the Morse taper and tapping them out with a nail set or metal rod. The point got chewed up from a pen turning mandrel. Replacing the entire unit is exp...

Got to be better than addressing you as JPG40504. More droid like than C3PO or R2D2. May the force be with you. Appreciate

Thanks Bingo -- that was just terrific. The pictures were the key. My search did not turn up this original thread. Probably my search terms were off. Thanks for taking the time to direct me to the original thread

hand wheels for M500
Since I use a cabinet table saw, I have no need to upgrade my 500 to a 510 or 520. The one item I would love is to replace the stick levers on the table height adjustment and slide position with hand wheels. I understand that the hand wheels for the upgraded models will not fit the 500. Is there any...

Once the paper is off the disc, try GooGone, then finish up with lacquer thinner or mineral spirits.

Horizontal drilling of Pen blanks
I want to thank all of you who responded to my original thread. Your wisdom and experience is truly astonishing. I have had better results by taking the following actions: I have moved the table (M500) all the way to the tail stock to give it extra support as it will flex up under pressure. I have a...

Horizontal drilling pen blanks
I am an experienced woodwooker but I am having a beginner's problem. I made a jig to hold a pen blank on the table for horizontal drilling. The table is a perfect 90 degrees to the shaft. I centered the brad point bit in the chuck to hit the center of the blank. Table locked, fence locked, height lo...
