Clean those dust collectors
Howdy folks, I've been using the DC3300 with 24" filter since getting the Shopsmith. Its worked great for my small shop. Yesterday, I noticed it wasn't picking up dust very well, so I checked the bag. The bag was full and so was the filter! I've changed filters once and bags many times. I've be...

Re: Customer Service response time
Still no response from Shopsmith customer support voice mail, email, and phone call requests. I am starting to get angry about this. I've been on hold with customer support for 30 minutes... They are either selling a lot of stuff or having a lot of problems with their products.

Re: Customer Service response time
Thanks for all the responses,
While I wait for a response from SS, I plan to use two nuts, one on the inside and one for outside. I think I have a thin nut that should work. ~mike c

Customer Service response time
Howdy folks, I received a defective part on a new product and discussed the problem with customer service. Customer service said I would need to get a replacement part approved by an engineer. I sent photos and description to customer service (who is the only contact with engineers) last week, but s...

[quote="dusty"]Just Google:
knurled threaded insert
this will give you most of the information needed to understand what went wrong and how to fix it.
Shopsmith will most likely make it right but why bother. It is an easy fix you can do yourself.

Wow David, great tip. I didn't think to look at the others. Thank you. ~mike cDLB wrote:I would check them all before calling engineering. I don't see a resolution other than replacing the bad rail(s). This is what it should look like, in case the others are the same.

Re: Installed 520 upgrade...tips?
Howdy,
It is a threaded sleeve that was pressed into a hole in the rail. It simply pulled out. I suspect it was installed with some rivet tool.
