Re: Installed 520 upgrade...tips?
Howdy, Today I began setting up the fence on the new 520 upgrade. Sadly, one of the screws that hold the alignment tube in the front rail pulled the threaded insert from the rail. i contacted customer service and they suggested I contact engineering. Re: Installed 520 upgrade...tips?
Thanks for the responses, John, Gary, and Dusty. Indeed, I used the alignment jigs in the kit. It all looks good, but the upgrade seemed so easy that I thought I might have missed something. Today I'll set up the fence and cut some wood!

Installed 520 upgrade...tips?
Howdy folks,
Last night I finally installed a 520 upgrade kit on the 510. It was very easy to do, but I am wondering if there are any tips out there for alignment and tightening the rails and table. I didn't see any videos that discuss the upgrade and subsequent alignment.
Have fun,
mike c

Re: Wood shop fashion
I have a Shopsmith apron that remains on the wall. It is not so comfortable to wear. Mostly I wear jeans or shorts with a tee shirt and a waxed canvas shop apron. The shop has A/C so an apron isn't too hot in summer. ~mike c

Beautiful carving, but how did you get the dog to hold still while you carved?
