I just got back on the site after a few years hiatus and got interested in this thread. No further progress since August 8th?

Re: First project on the Shopsmith
Very nice! I built bunk beds for my sons back in the 80’s. They are now being used by my granddaughters after being in storage for the last 30 years or so. I never built the guard rail, so I’m doing that now. The plans are from Woodsmith #38.

Re: Work Bench
I got one of those benches for my seed starting a while back. Now I'm going to have to upgrade the benchtop. Thanks a lot, ER.

Sorry, but I see no winner there, and only

I treat it like paste car wax. Let it dry to a haze, then buff.

Re: Double bar clamps
I have the Shopsmith version. They are very high quality, and work great. But the price on the ones from ptree is certainly attractive. Functionally they look almost the same, but I see one difference that could be important. The Shopsmith bars are slightly convex, lengthways, on the side that pres...

Double bar clamps
Has anyone bought these? http://www.ptreeusa.com/edirect_040116_4way.htm
What do you think of them? Since you provide your on wood, you can make them different lengths, but they look pretty adjustable so you should only need one set of boards for most projects.
