hi ed---i own a 1985 ss--which i used solely all these years--i am now looking into buying a middle grade table saw and use the ss for the other tools--i also own a dedicated stand up drill press which i bought used---i think its up to the person as to which tools you own ---good luck pepe

i just mine recently--it was on there for over 10 years --i used a heat gun --once it got soft i kept moving the gun ahead of the work--it worked great- just be careful if you use a scraper not to scratch the metal--good--luck

good luck in restoring ----just remember after all the rust is gone and all is smooth use plenty of JOHNSON PASTE WAX not liquid---paste---use it on all parts---down tubes--table tops--rub it in good---you use paste so the saw dust does not stick to it--have fun PEPE

Ive been using LINSEED OIL for about 30 years for any end grain wood. Never had any trouble with staining or finishing of any sort. I apply it by rag or small brush -- takes about 2 minutes to dry- also if you get some on the other edges it does no harm to the wood. this is one product that is alway...
