I've made my first woodworking video. The music is... well, you may want to keep the sound muted! But, I'm trying to create a video log of the build of my quadcopter. I made another hub frame set for a friend and made a video of the process. The camera I used was my cell phone in my nifty cell phone tripod holder thingy.

Everything is available as kits, but I'm scratch building as much as I can. Even going to etch my own circuit board for power distribution.

The second is a cell phone holder for a camera tripod. It will hold my Samsung Galaxy S5 and the quick release plate for the tripod can screw directly to it.
Ha, I took the easier route and purchased one that is ready to go out of the box.

I'm going to film Model Sailboat Races and my daughter is a real estate agent and wants me to take video of houses she's trying to sell. And I can use it to scout out Shopsmith bargins in the area. It will fly to a preset GPS point and return on it's own.

A coworker of mine has one of those DJI Phantoms. The pictures and video from it is amazing. They are pretty nice, but building my own appeals to me more. Several of us have started meeting pretty regularly for flying events at a local ballpark. Here's a video that one of those guys made from the event. Video and pictures from the Phantom are mixed in:

BuckeyeDennis, it took me several hours to make that set of hubs. But that included frequent interruptions from the kids, setting up the camera and moving it and setting it up again and moving it and setting it up again etc, battery dying, having to copy the video off half way through to make room to record more, etc. I think if I hadn't been concerned with the camera, I could knock out a hub set in under 30 minutes.

Thanks for posting the video. While I doubt I'll ever build one of these I learned a couple of neat tricks, including using the blue painter's tape to help prevent tear out.
