table saw guide doesn't work on the bandsaw?
I'm new and still learning. When I use my bandsaw with the table saw guide the bandsaw blade goes into it. Why doesn't the Shopsmith table saw work on the bandsaw?

That's an Incra miter gauge, not a Shopsmith miter gauge

The picture below shows an OEM Shopsmith Mark 5 Miter on the Bandsaw's Cast Iron Table. You can see the Miter's Protractor is clear of the Blade slot. Although the one shown is a Greenie from the 1950's the size of the Miter Protractor has not changed.

I use an old Greenie miter gauge without the pistol grip like the one in the picture above from Russ. You don't need the pistol grip so much on a bandsaw so you can probably find one like that on eBay for less than the typical price of a used complete miter gauge that typically goes for $45.

Another plus to having a Miter without the Safety Grip, as shown in my picture above, is using it in the other slot as a fence. You can add a Miter Gauge Exrension to increase the fence length.

If your machine came with a box of stuff, try looking there for a stock miter gauge. The Incra gauge was offered as an upgrade, it's a collaboration between Incra and Shopsmith and is no longer available to fit the Marks. The PO almost certainly had both miter gauges.
