Moving Day

Post by chapmanruss »

Last Saturday, July 1st was Shopsmith moving day. With the move I have been offline for a few days too. The picture below shows most of my Shopsmith "stuff" gathered in their new home. Still a lot of organizing to do.

Looks great Russ! Those shelves are practically empty, plenty of room for Shopsmith parts. Nice high ceilings too. You could look into those parking elevators and start storing your Shopsmiths vertically giving you floor space for more ;)

Seriously, look into an overhead I-beam track and trolley. The back you save could be your own!

I hope we’ll be getting a video tour when everything is back in place. Looks like an amazing space - congrats!

I have a long way to go before it is ready for a tour. Still moving stuff from the old location. The house itself is empty but the garage and storage sheds are still being emptied. I plan to build a room inside the Shop building that is insulated with heat and cooling to make a more comfortable year-round workspace. As you can see from the picture above it is a wood frame, metal covered "pole barn" so not very comfortable to work in year-round. One of the nice things is the storage racks you can see against the back wall. There are 2 more racks on the wall to the left out of the view of the picture. The stairway ladder is a big help reaching those upper shelves. The Racks and ladder were left by the previous, previous owner.

Time to head off for more moving.
