A line of Canes.
A busy month.. The three redish handles are Mahogany. Two have a walnut shanks and one is canarywood. The other is a Zebrawood handle on a paduak shank. Finished the Mahogany & Canarywood and the Zebrawood & Paduak canes.

Very nice! How do you round the handles? Sanding disk, rasp, other?

Re: A line of Canes.
I use drum dumsander and rasps. I basicly shape with a inflatible durm sander I put on the SS using the drill chuck. Then finish shaping with acouple of hand stitched rasps. I have more controle with the rasp. and becouse they are hand stitched the leave very light macks that require little sanding.

Well Done!
When I get to need a cane, I hope I can find one like these.

Re: A line of Canes.
I am curious re the purpose of the bottom back protrusions. So they will hang on a hook???

Re: A line of Canes.
The basic shape of the handle is called a “Derby” I think it has the most comfortable grip. But the back come to a point on that traditional shape. When you’re out there is not a cane rack some were nearby. I made the back of the handle wider and a slight angle on the bottom. This allows me to tuck the shank under a table and hang on an edge. Out of the way but handy to get to. Rather than tucked between the legs or hanging on the back of the chair.
