The dimensions are approximately 8" X 7" X 5 1/2.Dansmith wrote:Those are great. What are the approximate dimensions?
I cured the rounds with the bark on and painted the ends with a very heavy coat of latex to prevent splitting. They were left to dry for about 3 years. One tip. I think due to the narley grain pattern the wood will move about 1/4 of an inch after being cut and in different directions. So try to glue the bottom and side cut the same day the band saw box is cut.rjent wrote:Beautiful! Mesquite is truly beautiful. I have some curing now. I hope mine will look as good as yours!
This was posted Dec 2014 and will give you an Idea of the process. Post #18503 https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/begi ... 15703.htmlBuckeyeDennis wrote:Beautiful wood! I’ve never seen that type of bandsaw box, only the ones with drawers.
Do you have any in-process photos that show how it’s done? I assume that you shell them out and re-glue the bottoms, in which case there must be a seam somewhere on the sides. And maybe rabbet the lids with a router?
