goodmorning...just purchased a 510 shopsmith. the power head does not slide well on the tubes and binds towards the ends. I have waxed and clean well and has made a little difference. Could this be caused by the head locking mechanism and if so could I get directions on fixing. Thanks in advance for your good folks help Tim
Are the wedges moving freely? Loosen the lock wingnut a few extra turns. You should be able to move the wedges in/out by pushing/pulling on the wingnut. The wedges are the round things the lock screw moves.

Watch approx the first 6 minutes of this Shopsmith video. Nick Engler explains a trick about turning the waytubes to help the headstock slide easier. Might help..Joe
