I am looking at purchasing a spindle sander. Most of them have a 4 inch spindle but only a 105 inch stroke. Why not a 3 inch stroke. Just wondering. Larry

Long spindles are relatively easy to make.

Not so long stroke. ;)

I (well, a machinist) outfitted my Rigid spindle sander with two inch extensions. Really makes a difference.

Gene: Any chance of getting some pictures. I have some metal working tools and could possibly copy your extension. Thanks Larry
