My new tool chest

I just wanted to post about my new tool chest/ Mobile workbench I purchased from Home Depot.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frontier...210B/302782148
Right now it is priced at $581.99. I purchased it about two weeks ago for $540.75. It is regular priced at I think around $620.

I hate to buy something this large $$$$ unseen, I had my eye on a similar Husky unit that was in store without the peg board for $599.00 but it got discontinued. It was replaced with the same item but with peg board for $699. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-61-in ... /304079110
Waiting for a sale it went up to $798 For this reason I took the chance and ordered the Frontier chest when the priced dropped.

To make this short I am very happy with the quality of this chest. Much better than expected. A good buy in my book.
The peg board was surprised to find it was metal and was reinforced. Also it came with the plastic bins and peg hooks.
One of the drawers has minor damage. I sent an message to Frontier but after one day have not received a message back. We will see how customer service from Frontier responds.

I also had my eye on the milwaukee. But went with the Frontier for price. My 2 old tool chests are red and black.Painting my tool chest red with black drawers have crossed my mind. Looks like it is made by the same company.

The cost will be a controlling factor for me, as well. I have looked at several different ones and I do find sturdier, more rugged ones but that comes with a price. Then I have a serious discussion with myself and come to realize that I no longer work in an environment that "requires" rugged to survive.

I have less floor space now than I have had so I am forced to go vertical. The tool chest approach will assist with that.

Then there will be the question of how to dispose of my current tool boxes. My wife recommends just making it obvious that I am no longer using them will have the effect of making them disappear. She believes the family will haul them off as quickly as I can empty them.

Wow! Nice chest. Can you tell (or do they say) what the wood is on the work surface!

Looks like a great buy!

I've been noticing a similar one at Menards when I walk through their store. I haven't stopped to look it over because I'm not in the market for one right now.
However, it is on sale this week for $649 for those who need one.

If I remember right it is a Tropical Hardwood called Rubber Wood.

Thanks for the idea. I went shopping today and got something similar.

https://www.ebay.com/i/162834790202?chn=ps

and I caught it on a memorial day sale at HomeDepot. Got it and and Gorilla Ladder for $689.00 with my military discount. Picked up a new Weber two burner grill while I was at it.
