Looks like there's a label wrapped around the speed dial too. Maybe one says "Property of Ned Flanders".

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
Hi There,
I am totally new at this so please excuse if I have not "posted" in the right place.
I am in Australia (firstly)
My father purchased an Australian Shopsmith many many years ago and slowly handbuilt our whole house with it (we even had a complete room within the house that was just for the woodworking machinery)
He died many years ago and my brother took over the family home.
My brother died a few years ago and I inherited the "Shopsmith" and had intended to complete a restoration and was lucky enough to purchase another (USA) unit at an auction locally.
They are similar but definately from different eras
Long story short we have now moved to Queensland and I have these two sitting in storage, in NSW, totally unrestored along with a collection of bits
I am no longer able to undertake this resoration and was looking for interested parties (in Australia) who may be interested in such a project
Please message or email me if you are interested as there is a lot of history with the older one (the house was a log cabin and featured in Home Beautiful in then 40's)
Regards
Allan

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
Mark 7 with Free Shipping on ebay for $1500 opening bid. Couple of issues, from the description it says local pickup, it isn't a Mark 7, and you can't really tell what you're getting from the pictures. But at least a 505 with PowerPro, Belt Sander, and Jointer and all looks to be in good condition.

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
Thanks for sharing your story, and I do hope you can find someone who’ll want to continue working with that fine old machine. I’d consider your offer myself if I weren’t half a planet away, so I’ll have to be satisfied with a few bits of memorabilia of Shopsmith in the South Pacific…

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
I think I saw this one while it was on CL. He was asking a lot more for it then. I do remember the hand written note about the "value" of it, though he does list a few items that I thought were standard equipment. In any case, still looks like it'd be a good deal for someone wanting to get all of the SPTs. I don't have the money for it right now and already have most of what he's selling. Still haven't used the jointer that I picked up late last year...DLB wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 7:40 pm Mark 7 with Free Shipping on ebay for $1500 opening bid.
