Sounds like somebody in Texas is getting frustrated :)

By the way love the quote for your signature.

Whoever posted it speaks the truth...I guess the challenge is how many of the $1,000+ posters will read his posting first, much less then follow his advice.

The 500 and 510 actual selling prices here in Florida are lower. Not many are selling these days but I still track the listings. I missed a super 510 buy on Craig's List in Dec or it was a come-on as the seller would never reply to me, no phone number. It was a like new 2002 510 with 4 SPTs for $500. I was a day late responding. I will still buy this type of deal at this price.

There's a guy north Texas that has been trying to sell a 520 for $8,000 for months. Nice clean machine, but overpriced in my opinion.

I agree with Bill. I think the prices given for a 500 and 510 are still a bit high. Condition matters a lot too. Most of the 500s I see are incomplete and in bad shape and I wouldn't value more than $100.

Guess I overpaid for a jointer on eBay?

I looked at completed auctions and they were averaging 165 so I bid 166.20 and won at 164.

Just finished assembling it and ran a scrap piece of hardwood through it from a shipping pallet.

It had the dust chute and new safety feather guard and no rust.

Did I get a fair deal? This craigslist post suggests not.

I think you got a good deal. Most have rust problems and are the older style.
