Machined washers as used on 505506 arbor

Post by bobgroh »

Been looking all over the web and the Shopsmith web sites for a source for the 'machined washers' used on, for example, the 5/8" molder/dado arbor (SS PN 505506). There are supposed to be two of them but my arbor only has one.

The Shopsmith PN is 501451 but I can't find any source for them. Truly not a big deal (I have other arbors I use on a regular basis and this one is a spare) but I would like to make sure this arbor has all the parts that it is supposed to have. Any help appreciated.

Have you tried Shopsmith for the washer? Of course, the shipping from them will be 2-3x the cost of the washer. :(

The machined washer is part number 501451 and if you type that into the search box when not on the Forum it will come up. They are $4.95 each now plus S & H. I have not found these from any other suppliers.

Thanks for the replies. I did try searching the SS site but maybe fumble-fingered the number - tried again and there it is. Too expensive for me.

Sorry for the delay but both of my micrometers have gone missing. So here are the swag's: OD is 1-1/2", the ID is 5/8", the thickness of the rim is about 3/16", the rim itself is about 1/4" wide and the thickness from the ID to the inside edge of the rim is about 1/8" (i.e. 2/16"). Black anodize finish (or something like it).
