Found A Bargain I Think

Post by rlkeeney »

I have been looking for a bargain for a long time that I could salvage tubes and legs. Today I found this for $150.

I don't know what is in the boxes, but I'm pretty sure one of them has a jointer in it. Way to heavy not to be.

What was in the boxes? Not what I had expected. New in the box never used. Still covered with stinky grease. I thought there would be a lot of assorted Shopsmith accessories in the boxes. I didn't open them because they were double wrapped with boxes and tied with polypropylene rope. If I had looked in the boxes, I would have left them there. Now I have yet another jointer (3 of them) and a Jigsaw I don't want. If you live near me, I will let you have them cheap.

The Jointer cleaned up nice. Only a little pitting on the end of the table where the box was badly damaged. All the parts are there except the manual. This is a newer one than the one I already have. I like the way the guard mounts much better. You just tension the spring a bit and drop it into a hes shaped hole.

Looks like a 6 inch jointer?

It is 6-inches x 36-inches.

If I remember right the shipping weight is 110lbs. I bought one from Harbor Freight before they were a chain store. They are made in Taiwan. Mine worked great for me. I can put it on the Shopsmith pretty easy but that is about as high as I want to go with it. it sits on a stand on the floor most of the time.

I have two of them now.

That guard mount is the same as the original design(before the screwed down feather stick version).
