The Fox Super Shop design was made in China. Tony Fox sold his rights to it to Smithy after a scandalous story of trying to bypass U.S. Trade laws. I remember reading but have not independently verified he was at one time an engineer at Magna.
The Fox Super Shop was later marketed under a variety of names like Smithy Super-Shop or Iron Wood and even a Harbor Freight Central Machinery 10-in-1 version.
Nick Engler wrote about it in a 2008 post if you want to know a bit more. It is worth reading. http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewt ... 928#p13928
I created a new tab under My Google Drive Link for the FoxSuperShop for a collection point for any info we can scrounge up on them. see http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewt ... 90#p185690
A few years back I had the patent application, and when I find it I will stick it in the folder with photos I can find. I do not work on them, never had one, don’t rightly expect to, but am sensitive to folks trying to fix something they have and will help where I can.
I have someone sending me a manual for one of the original Fox Super Shop ones that I will scan for folks when I have time.
I have already put a copy of the Harbor Freight - Central Machinery 10 in 1 [Fox Super Shop] Manual in PDF form out there in Folder FoxSuperShop - 60 Pages in all. Some of their parts might be available to order. I just don’t know.
UPDATE: I did find the original Patent Application and put it in the FoxSuperShop folder this morning.
