Where I used to live had that problem for anything under tools, motorcycles, or boats. The worst was buying a Harley Sportster 883 (their lowest end model) and trying to sell it 5 years later for thousands more than a new one.

Now I have to deal with things like this:

"is in great shape" just ignore the obvious neglect and surface rust in every close up pic. Right now there is also an ad for a bass boat that is in excellent condition, ready to use except the motor needs a piston....

Here's a real winner of a listing. No slaps in the face allowed. Nothing like starting out a post being defensive. The problem is, it is only worth a slap in the face. Thing looks like it has been through the ringer too. Has a 510 table, appears to have a 500 side table?
I do not know the history of this machine, or why it's in this condition.
All I have is in the picture.
I will accept any reasonable offer, but will not respond to slaps in the face, these are $3500 new.

I'd give a couple hundred for that. I could use the 510 carriage and tables as well as the live center.

He should break it down and part it out on eBay, he'd get more money.
