MARK VII BASE ASSEMBLY BREAKDOWN

I looked for this thread in anticipation of reassembling the base and 'discovered' I never created it.

I did take all the pix and had them ready to post.

So a bit tardy, but here goes.

Rear panel removed first. Two plastic knob screws.

Next the front panel. Secured with 'normal' screws.

Front and back screws use tinnerman 'nuts'.

Next the tilt support bracket. There are screws attaching it to the side also. The larger screws on top, the smaller ones on the side.

The vertical clamp mounts with a screw that includes a spring washer.

Vertical 'stop' screws. The end caps rest on these when tilted to vertical(both ends).

The tension pin is driven out of the foot pedal and cam shaft.

Six screws attach the 'box' and 4 secure the piston bore 'plate'. The 'box' is part of the end with feet.

Tinnerman clips serve as 'nuts' for those six screws.

Piston has a lip on top, caster retains it from below.

Cams are secured to camshaft with half dog set screws. Notice locating holes in shaft.

End/legs are the worst rusted parts.

Last base rail. Kept the rails temporarily attached to the base 'box' ends to raise them up for disassembling the previous 'stuff'.

For those who 'care' about Mark VII stuff, the base breakdown thread is 'finished'. All parts have been primed and after painting, the reassembly thread for the base will be created.

The end is near!!
